Connect your AI assistant to your Shopify app's numbers

Luseri has an MCP server. MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the standard that AI tools such as Claude, Cursor and VS Code use to read outside data. With a personal token, they read the numbers of the Shopify apps connected to your Luseri account, read-only, and answer your questions where you already work.

What your assistant can read

The server offers three tools. None of them writes anything: not in your Shopify account, not in Google Analytics, not in Luseri.

ToolWhat it returns
list_appsThe apps connected to your account, with their App Store listing and the date of their last sync with Shopify.
get_app_summaryThe same written summary the assistant in the dashboard reads: the last 30 days against the 30 before (MRR and its movements, installs, uninstalls, trials, churn), plans, merchants, uninstall reasons and timing, retention by cohort, listing rating, reviews and category rank, competitors, tracked keyword positions, latest reviews and listing traffic sources. In English or in French.
get_daily_metricsDay-by-day series, up to 730 days: MRR and its movements, active, paying and trialing stores, installs, uninstalls, trials, conversions, cash collected by type, Shopify fees, listing views and install clicks.

The numbers are the ones in your dashboard, as of the last daily sync with Shopify. How they are computed is explained in how Luseri calculates MRR, churn and retention.

Set it up in two minutes

  1. Create a Luseri account and connect your app, if it is not done yet. Luseri is free for now.
  2. In Settings, under "Your AI assistant, connected to your numbers (MCP)", give a name to a new token and create it. Copy it right away: it is shown only once.
  3. Paste the configuration for your tool, with your token in place of YOUR_TOKEN. The settings page shows it ready to copy for each tool.
ToolWhereWhat to add
Claude CodeIn your terminalclaude mcp add --transport http luseri https://luseri.com/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN"
Cursor~/.cursor/mcp.json{"mcpServers":{"luseri":{"url":"https://luseri.com/api/mcp","headers":{"Authorization":"Bearer YOUR_TOKEN"}}}}
VS Code.vscode/mcp.json{"servers":{"luseri":{"type":"http","url":"https://luseri.com/api/mcp","headers":{"Authorization":"Bearer YOUR_TOKEN"}}}}
Claude Desktopclaude_desktop_config.jsonThrough the mcp-remote bridge, which needs Node.js: {"mcpServers":{"luseri":{"command":"npx","args":["mcp-remote","https://luseri.com/api/mcp","--header","Authorization:${AUTH_HEADER}"],"env":{"AUTH_HEADER":"Bearer YOUR_TOKEN"}}}}

Then ask your question as you would to a colleague: "Why did my MRR drop last week?", "Which uninstall reason grew this month?", "Where do I rank against my competitors?". The assistant calls the tools it needs.

What it does not do

  • It never writes: no charge, no change to your Shopify account, your listing or your Google Analytics.
  • It only answers with the numbers of the apps connected to the account that created the token.
  • It works with tools that can send a token in an Authorization header. Tools that only accept a sign-in flow (OAuth) cannot connect to it yet.
  • Each account can make 300 tool calls a day and hold 5 tokens at once.

Security

Luseri keeps only a fingerprint of each token, never the token itself, which is why it is shown once. You can revoke a token at any time in Settings: it stops working right away. Deleting your account deletes its tokens.

The numbers your assistant asks for are sent to that assistant, and to the company that runs it, under its own terms. Luseri does not keep the content of these calls; it only counts them, to apply the daily limit, and erases the count after 24 hours. The details are in the privacy policy.

Questions

Is the Luseri MCP server free?
Yes, like the rest of Luseri for now. If Luseri becomes paid, its terms say users are told by email at least 30 days before, and nothing is charged without their consent.
Can the MCP server change anything in my Shopify account?
No. Its three tools only read, and Luseri's access to Shopify is itself read-only.
Which AI assistants can use it?
Any MCP client that can send a token in an Authorization header: Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code directly, and Claude Desktop through the mcp-remote bridge. Tools that only accept an OAuth sign-in cannot connect to it yet.
What is the difference with the assistant in the Luseri dashboard?
The assistant in the dashboard needs no setup and runs on Claude inside Luseri. The MCP server lets the assistant you already use read the same summary, plus day-by-day series, alongside your code or your other tools.
