Luseri: review monitoring for your Shopify app
Luseri follows the reviews on your Shopify App Store listing: it reads your public listing once a day and shows your reviews with your replies, the split of stars, and your rating and review count over the past year, rebuilt from the dates of your reviews. It also records, every day, the rating and number of reviews of up to six competitors. It does not reply in your place: it drafts a reply that you check and post yourself. It does not say which reviews Shopify removed.

What the Reviews page shows
| Figure | What it is |
|---|---|
| Rating and star split | The rating your listing shows, and how many reviews you have at each level from 1 to 5 stars, read from your listing |
| 4- and 5-star reviews | Their share of all your reviews |
| Awaiting a reply | Your reviews with no reply from you |
| Rating over time | Your average rating day by day over the past year, rebuilt from the dates of your reviews |
| Number of reviews over time | Your review count day by day over the same year |
| Your latest reviews | Up to the 200 most recent, each with the store, its country, the date, the stars, the text and your reply, filtered by latest, unanswered, or 3 stars or fewer, each with a "Draft a reply" button |
The two charts follow the period you pick at the top of the dashboard: 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, 12 months, or two dates of your own within the last year.
How the rating history is rebuilt
Shopify publishes no rating history, and its Partner API has no reviews. So Luseri starts from today, with the review count and rating on your listing, and goes back one day at a time: every review posted after a given day is taken out of the count and out of the average. You get a year of history on the day you connect your listing, instead of waiting a year to build one.
Read the curve as a trend rather than an exact record:
- Shopify's rating is not a plain average of stars: Shopify weights it toward recent, useful and trustworthy reviews. The rebuilt curve treats it as a plain average, so its past values are approximate.
- Reviews that Shopify unpublished before Luseri first read your listing are not in it. Shopify counts unpublished reviews neither in your rating nor in your total.
- Luseri reads up to about 600 of your most recent reviews, 60 pages of 10. For an app with more, the curve stays flat before the oldest of them.
Your rating next to up to six competitors
On the Competitors page, you add up to six apps by pasting the address of their listing. Every day, Luseri reads each listing and records its rating and number of reviews, next to yours:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Rating | The rating shown on the listing that day |
| Reviews | The number of reviews shown on the listing |
| In 30 days | Reviews gained over the last month, once a month of daily readings exists |
| Rank | Position in your category, read every day |
| Starting at | The lowest monthly price on the listing, or its free plan |
Because the count is recorded every day, a fall in it shows up in the 30-day change, which can go below zero when reviews disappear. Luseri reads the text of your own reviews only, not your competitors'. On the same page, a log records changes to their listing name, plans and categories, and to yours.
Which question each view answers
| Question | Where to look in Luseri |
|---|---|
| Did a recent low rating move my average? | The rating chart on the Reviews page, and the "3 stars or fewer" filter |
| Which reviews still need a reply? | The "Unanswered" filter and the "Awaiting a reply" count |
| Am I gaining reviews as fast as my competitors? | The "In 30 days" column of the Competitors page |
| Did reviews disappear from my listing? | Your own "In 30 days" figure, lower than the reviews you received, or below zero |
| Am I still clear of the Built for Shopify review bar? | Your review count and rating. Shopify requires at least five reviews and a minimum recent rating that it does not publish |

How Luseri reads your listing
There is no API for App Store reviews, so Luseri reads your public listing as any visitor sees it. Its robot introduces itself by name, LuseriBot, reads each page once a day with a pause between requests, and stops when the site refuses.
To connect your listing, paste its address (apps.shopify.com followed by your app's name) in the dashboard, once your Partner account is connected. There is no access to give. The first reading takes about a minute and goes through your review history page by page; after that, each day it reads your newest reviews until it reaches a page with nothing new.
Your reviews, rating and rank are public. They are stored to draw the curves, and the readings of a listing are shared between the accounts that follow it.
What Luseri does not do
- It does not reply in your place. The "Draft a reply" button has Claude, the AI model made by Anthropic, write a draft in the review's language, up to 30 a day. The draft never offers anything for changing a review and never asks for it to be changed. You check it, copy it and post it yourself in the Partner Dashboard, under Apps, then your app, then "View and reply to reviews", as the account owner or as a staff member with the "Manage public listings" permission. The review's text, the store's name and your app's name are sent to Anthropic to write the draft.
- It does not list which reviews Shopify removed. Once a week, it re-reads all the reviews it keeps: one that is no longer on your listing leaves the Reviews page, and the curve drops on the day the removal was seen. To rebuild the list of removed reviews and appeal, see Shopify app reviews removed.
- It does not see a late reply right away: a reply or an edit on a review older than your ten newest is picked up at that weekly re-read, which can take a few days to go through about 600 reviews.
- It sends no email when a review arrives. The Reviews page shows the ones still waiting for your reply.
- It does not ask merchants for reviews. The automatic emails it can send to your merchants carry only the text you write. How to ask within Shopify's rules is in how to get reviews for your Shopify app.
The AI assistant in the dashboard sees your rating, its star split and your five latest reviews, and can answer a question about them, such as what your last low ratings have in common.
Questions
- Can I see the rating history of my Shopify app?
- Shopify does not publish one. Luseri rebuilds the past year from the dates of your reviews as soon as you connect your listing. Because Shopify weights its rating toward recent and trusted reviews, the rebuilt curve is an approximation of the trend.
- Does Luseri reply to reviews for me?
- No, but it drafts one. On the Reviews page, the Draft a reply button has Claude write a reply in the review's language, up to 30 a day; you check it and post it yourself in the Shopify Partner Dashboard, as the account owner or a staff member with the Manage public listings permission. The page also shows which reviews are still waiting for a reply.
- Can Luseri show which of my reviews were removed?
- Not as a list. It records your review count every day, and once a week it re-reads your reviews: one that is no longer on your listing leaves the Reviews page, and the curve drops on the day the removal was seen. Shopify does not give that list either, and may not notify you of a removal.
- Do I need to give access to track my reviews?
- No. Reviews are public: Luseri reads your listing once you paste its address, after connecting your app's Partner account.
- How much does Luseri cost?
- Luseri is free for now, while it welcomes its first users. Its terms say that if it becomes paid, users are told by email at least 30 days before, and nothing is charged without their consent.
