App Rings vs Luseri

App Rings is a revenue dashboard for Shopify apps, launched on October 1, 2026 by MEMENTO, a company in Sapporo, Japan, that also runs its own Shopify apps. It reads your Partner account for MRR, churn, trials and payouts, adds App Store reviews and listing traffic from GA4, and lets you question your metrics through Claude or OpenAI with your own API key. Like Luseri, it has a website in French, among eight languages. Luseri covers revenue too, and adds App Store rankings, keywords and competitors, with an assistant that needs no key of your own. Here is what each does, as described on their sites on October 21, 2026.

Where App Rings is stronger

  • A full price list known in advance: free under 1,000 dollars of MRR and 1,000 installs, then from 15 to 149 dollars a month as your MRR grows, with unlimited apps, a 14-day trial without a card, and a year for the price of ten months. Luseri is free for now and has not published paid plans.
  • Slack alerts on new paid subscriptions, cancellations, installs and more, with daily, weekly or monthly summaries, and shop names only if you switch them on.
  • An API that returns your aggregated figures as JSON, for your own scripts, next to its MCP access for tools such as Claude Code.
  • A choice of AI provider: Ask AI works with Claude or OpenAI on your own API key, so you pay the provider directly, at its rates. Its privacy policy says the figures it sends automatically leave out shop names and domains. Luseri's privacy policy says the summary its assistant sends to Anthropic includes the names of your top-paying stores and of those fading.
  • A written method: its Accuracy section says how MRR is built (annual plans divided by twelve; trials, frozen stores, one-time charges and free plans left out; churn counted on the day a cancellation is scheduled), each report explains its own calculations, and MEMENTO says it checked the payouts of its own apps against its bank deposits.
  • Payouts and charges: net payouts with the date of the next one, usage and one-time charges, and how discounts are used.
  • A list of stores at risk of leaving, built from scheduled cancellations, store closures, frozen subscriptions and trials about to end.
  • Work as a team: custom charts, annotations on milestones such as a price change, saved views and CSV exports, with teammates invited by the owner.
  • Usage and Web Vitals of your app, read on demand from your app's own Google Analytics property, on Starter and above or during the trial.
  • Eight languages: Japanese, English, German, Spanish, French, Dutch, Italian and Portuguese, for the website and, according to its site, for the dashboard, the legal pages and the onboarding emails.

Where Luseri differs

  • Your App Store position is tracked: your place on up to 20 keywords you choose, and the place of the apps you watch, read every day among the first 192 App Store search results, next to your category rank recorded daily, up to six competitors side by side (rating, reviews, entry price, rank and its change over four weeks, Built for Shopify badge, trial length) and a log of changes to your listing and theirs. App Rings reads ratings, reviews and replies, and its site mentions no rankings, keywords or competitors.
  • An AI assistant that needs no key: it answers your questions from your own numbers and suggests what to do next, in English or in French. It runs on Claude, a model made by Anthropic, and you have no API key to provide and no AI account to pay, within 40 questions a day per account (no limit for normal use for founding members). App Rings' Ask AI needs your own Claude or OpenAI key, and its terms leave the provider's charges to you.
  • Listing traffic without BigQuery or a paid plan: views, Install clicks, confirmed installs and the App Store searches that brought each visit, with the position your app held, by country and by language, read from your Google Analytics 4 with viewer access. App Rings reads listing traffic through the BigQuery export, on Starter and above or during the 14-day trial, and its terms say you can subscribe only to the plan your MRR and installs call for. Below 1,000 dollars of MRR and 1,000 installs, new traffic imports stop after the trial, unless App Rings grants an exemption; what was imported stays visible.
  • Your Partner API client only needs the "Manage apps" permission, as the Partner API guide explains. "View financials" stays optional, for apps that sell annual plans. App Rings asks for both, and its own terms say these permissions also allow some writes, so the token is not read-only, although App Rings runs only read queries.
  • A weekly report by email, and an email alert when uninstalls rise sharply. App Rings sends its alerts and summaries to Slack.
  • Optional in-app tracking adds a health score for each store, from a few lines of code in your app. App Rings reads usage from your app's own Google Analytics.

Which one to choose

Choose App Rings if you want Slack alerts, a JSON API for your own scripts, custom reports for a team, a written method behind each metric, or a dashboard in Japanese, German, Spanish, Dutch, Italian or Portuguese, and if bringing your own Claude or OpenAI key suits you. Choose Luseri if you want your App Store rankings, keywords and competitors next to your revenue, an assistant that needs no key, or listing traffic from Google Analytics without BigQuery or a paid plan. Both read your Partner account without changing it, so you can try them side by side. Other tools are compared in the overview of Shopify app analytics tools.

Questions

Is App Rings free?
Yes, while your organization's MRR, averaged over 90 days, stays under 1,000 dollars and your selected apps have 1,000 current installations or fewer (a store using three of your apps counts three times). Above that, the plan follows your MRR: Starter at 15 dollars a month from 1,000 to 5,000 dollars of MRR, Growth at 39 up to 15,000, Pro at 79 up to 50,000 and Scale at 149 beyond, tax included, or ten months' price for a year. Above 1,000 installations you need Starter even under 1,000 dollars of MRR. The first 14 days are free whatever your MRR, without a card. GA4 traffic sources, funnels and app usage need Starter or above, or the trial (checked on October 21, 2026).
Is Luseri free?
Luseri is free for now, while it welcomes its first users. Its terms say that if it becomes paid, you will be told by email at least 30 days before, and nothing will be charged without your consent.
Does App Rings track App Store rankings or keywords?
No, according to its site on October 21, 2026: it reads App Store ratings, reviews and replies every day from the public App Store pages, and neither its site nor its launch announcement mentions rankings, keywords or competitors. Luseri follows your position on up to 20 keywords you choose, and the position of the apps you watch, read every day among the first 192 App Store search results, with your category rank every day and up to six competitors side by side.
Do I need my own API key for App Rings' AI?
For Ask AI, yes, according to its site on October 21, 2026: you connect your own Claude (Anthropic) or OpenAI API key, which it stores encrypted, and you pay the provider yourself; its terms say the AI cost estimates shown in the app guarantee neither the actual charges nor a spending cap. It sends the provider aggregated numbers that leave out shop names and domains, with your question, part of the conversation and any attachment, and keeps your 50 latest conversations. Its site also lists a one-click AI analysis with prioritized suggestions, and an MCP access and a JSON API for tools such as Claude Code. Luseri has an assistant in the dashboard that answers questions from your app's numbers (revenue, merchants, retention, uninstall reasons, reviews, rank, competitors, listing traffic) and suggests what to do next, up to 40 questions a day per account (no limit for normal use for founding members). It runs on Claude, by Anthropic, and you do not need an API key of your own. It also has a read-only MCP server, so your own AI assistant can read the same numbers with a personal token.
How does App Rings calculate MRR and churn?
Its Accuracy section says it replays the full history of your Partner events each day. MRR is the monthly value of active paid subscriptions, with annual prices divided by twelve; trials, frozen stores, one-time charges and free plans are left out. A subscription counts as churned on the day its cancellation is scheduled, even if the store keeps access until the end of the billing period. Luseri also replays your Partner events store by store, brings annual plans back to a month, and keeps trials and frozen stores out of MRR.
Is App Rings available in French?
Yes. On October 21, 2026, its home page has its own address in each of eight languages (Japanese, English, German, Spanish, French, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese), and its pricing, about, legal and sign-in pages are translated too, at a single address that follows your browser's language. Its site says the dashboard and the onboarding emails come in the same eight languages, which we could not check without an account. Its terms say the Japanese text prevails if translations differ. Luseri's site, guides and dashboard are in English and in French.
Can I use both at the same time?
Yes. Both read your Shopify Partner account through an API client you create, without changing anything in it. App Rings asks for the Manage apps and View financials permissions; Luseri needs Manage apps alone.
