Rankbase vs Luseri

Rankbase is a keyword tool for the Shopify App Store, built by Farid Movsumov, a Shopify app developer, and owned by Craftshift, a Dutch company that publishes its own Shopify apps. It reads the searches Shopify sends to your Google Analytics 4, and shows for each keyword that brought merchants to your listing your position and the install clicks it earned. Luseri reads your Google Analytics 4 too, and adds your revenue, your App Store listing and your competitors. Here is what each does, as described on their sites on October 21, 2026.

Where Rankbase is stronger

  • Every keyword that already brings you visits, found in your own Google Analytics data with no list to build and no limit, with your daily position: up to 365 days of history, by locale and country, organic and paid apart. Since July 2026, positions are corrected by device, because Shopify shows 4 sponsored slots above the results on desktop and 3 on phones. Luseri follows up to 20 keywords that you choose.
  • Install clicks per keyword, and a Potential Score that ranks keywords by how much a better position could bring: a keyword that earns install clicks from a low position scores high. You can keep only the keywords that led to install clicks or confirmed installs, and hide the ones that do not concern you.
  • The source of each store: for any store, Rankbase finds the search keyword or the site that brought it, with the date, country and device. You can open it from your own admin or CRM through a link, or ask its API for up to 50 stores at once.
  • Community forum alerts: Rankbase tells you when a post on the Shopify Community forums mentions your keywords, so you can answer merchants who are looking for an app like yours.
  • Daily keyword reports and forum alerts in Slack, in public or private channels, as well as by email. A weekly traffic report by email compares each source with the week before, with App Store search split into organic, ads and AI-guided.
  • More ways to reach your data: CSV export, a REST API, and an MCP server whose 4 read-only tools let an AI assistant list your apps, read your keyword rankings and install sources, and browse popular App Store searches. On claude.ai and the Claude desktop app you connect it with a sign-in, without an API key; Claude Code, Cursor and the Claude API use a key. Luseri's MCP server always asks for a personal token.
  • Free public tools: a directory of the top 10 apps for 3,804 popular searches, refreshed daily from organic results only, 11,959 head-to-head comparisons of apps that rank in the top 3 for the same search, and a generator that turns an App Store review into an image to share.
  • Plans for portfolios, priced in advance: 5 or 20 apps for 49 or 99 dollars a month whatever your revenue, every feature on both plans, team members who share all apps, a 14-day trial without a credit card, and refunds that can be requested within 30 days. Luseri is free for now and has not published paid plans.

Where Luseri differs

  • You choose the keywords to follow, including those that bring no visits yet, and see the position of your competitors on them, read every day among the first 192 App Store search results. Rankbase's documentation describes positions for the keywords that have already brought merchants to your listing, and says it works best for apps that already have some traffic.
  • Revenue from your Partner account: monthly recurring revenue and what moves it (new subscribers, plan changes, cancellations, returns), cash collected shown apart in its own currency, and one page per store. Rankbase does not read revenue.
  • Retention is read by install cohort, next to the reasons merchants give Shopify when they uninstall, and an email alert warns you when uninstalls rise sharply.
  • Your App Store listing: reviews and rating over a year, category rank recorded daily, up to six competitors side by side, and a log of what changes on your listing and theirs. Rankbase's changelog covers your own listing.
  • An AI assistant inside the dashboard answers your questions from your own numbers, revenue and retention included, and suggests what to do next. It runs on Claude, a model made by Anthropic, and you have no API key to provide. Both tools also open your data to your own assistant over MCP: Rankbase's server covers its rankings and install sources, Luseri's covers revenue, retention and your App Store listing too.
  • Optional in-app tracking adds a health score for each store.
  • The dashboard is available in English and in French. Rankbase's site is in English.

Which one to choose

Choose Rankbase if your app already gets search traffic and you want to read every keyword it comes from, with install clicks, the source of each store, forum alerts and Slack, a REST API, or an MCP connection on claude.ai without a key. Choose Luseri if you want to follow keywords you pick before they bring visits, along with your competitors, your revenue and the reasons merchants leave, with an assistant inside the dashboard. Both read your Google Analytics 4 without changing it, so you can try them side by side. Other tools are compared in the overview of Shopify app analytics tools, and the searches stored in your Google Analytics are explained in App Store search terms in GA4.

Questions

How much does Rankbase cost?
Its home page and documentation on October 21, 2026 list two plans with every feature: Growth at 49 dollars a month for up to 5 apps, and Business at 99 dollars for up to 20 apps, with priority support. The free trial lasts 14 days and needs no credit card. Payments go through Paddle, and its refund policy lets you ask for a refund within 30 days of a payment. Each app needs its own Google Analytics 4 property.
Does Rankbase work without Google Analytics?
No. Its documentation says Rankbase needs a Google Analytics 4 property set up on your App Store listing, and works best for apps that already have some traffic: a keyword appears once merchants have reached your listing through it. Luseri follows the keywords you choose in the App Store search results, whether they bring visits yet or not, and reads your Google Analytics 4 as a viewer for listing views, Install clicks, confirmed installs and the searches that brought each visit.
Does Rankbase track revenue or churn?
Its site does not mention revenue, churn or the Shopify Partner API on October 21, 2026. It only asks for your app's ID from the Partner dashboard to show install sources, and its API returns that ID so you can join its data with your own Partner data. Luseri reads your Partner account: MRR and what moves it, cash collected, retention by install cohort and the reasons merchants give when they uninstall.
Does Rankbase use AI?
It has no AI feature in its dashboard on October 21, 2026, but since July 2026 it has an MCP server: an access that lets your own AI assistant read your data. Its 4 tools are read only and limited to your team: they list your apps, return your keyword rankings and the install source of up to 50 stores per call, and browse popular App Store searches. On claude.ai and the Claude desktop app, you connect it by signing in to Rankbase; Claude Code, Cursor and the Claude API use an API key. Luseri has an assistant in the dashboard that answers questions from your app's numbers (revenue, merchants, retention, uninstall reasons, reviews, rank, competitors, listing traffic) and suggests what to do next. It runs on Claude, by Anthropic, and you do not need an API key of your own. It also has a read-only MCP server, so your own AI assistant can read the same numbers with a personal token.
Is Luseri free?
Luseri is free for now, while it welcomes its first users. Its terms say that if it becomes paid, you will be told by email at least 30 days before, and nothing will be charged without your consent. Rankbase's plans start at 49 dollars a month, after a 14-day trial.
Can I use both at the same time?
Yes. Both read your Google Analytics 4 with read-only access, and change nothing in it. Luseri also reads your Shopify Partner account, through an API client you create.
